A few updates for the tea!

With about 25 days left before our very first event, we've got a few rather important updates for those who are planning on joining us!

First off, we've had some really great door prizes donated to us by several members of the group and various companies. Everything from sewing patterns to gift certificates, jewelry and even a couple dresses are going to be given away to those who attend. Everyone gets a door prize ticket, but you have to attend to play!

Second, and I am so very sorry if anyone is upset by this, but the venue has specifically requested that no children come to this event. The house this is being held in is very old, and there are just too many tempting things out that someone could possibly hurt themselves on. We will have lots of kid-friendly events in the future, such as our upcoming spring picnic (date TBD).

Regarding RSVPs - it is very important that if you decide to come you let me know. Menus have been added to the website at the events page so you can see what is available. If you decide you want High Tea (the fancy tea service with all the trimmings) I must have a head count on that. They only serve the exact number of reservations they get that day and if you don't show, the tea still has to be paid for. Full details about how this will work are on the events page. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at info@garegency.org.

Very much looking forward to to seeing everyone there!

An Introduction

Welcome, ladies and gentlemen.

My name is Stephanie Coté, and it is my honor to introduce you to the newest chapter of the The Regency Society of America. We are The Georgia Regency Society.

After many wishes of having a ball, picnic, or party to attend in the fabulous fashions of the early 1800's, and having none of them granted, I have taken it upon myself to fix this problem. We are brand new - our website just went up yesterday, so please be patient with us while we work out all the kinks.

I am excited to announce that our first event is in the planning stages. I have made reservations to visit a highly rated Tea Room in the North Metro Atlanta Area tomorrow and meet the owners. I have high hopes that this lovely venue will be what we are looking for, and we can place a date for our first gathering - a lovely afternoon tea. I already have visions of many a lovely lady and esteemed gentleman joining us, and of course all are welcome!

For now, I'll continue working to get all our internet proceedings finished, and will of course update this blog as frequently as I have fresh news to share with you all. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to email me at info@garegency.org. Also, if you haven't already done so and wish to, you can register for free membership and sign up for our Mailing List and theRSA Forumsto get first word each month on what we're up to and upcoming events and activities.

As always we are thrilled to have you with us, have a fantastic day!
